Age-Friendly Brent is our vision for a borough where older people can enjoy a healthy, active, and fulfilling later life. We want Brent to be a place where older residents live in homes they love, participate in activities that enrich their wellbeing, and feel connected to their community.
Our Commitment.
We’re committed to creating safe, accessible environments that:
support physical and mental health,
promote social inclusion and encourage sustainable living.
By working together with local partners and residents, we aim to build a borough that values older people and enables them to thrive.
How We’re Making it Happen.
Age-Friendly Brent is led by older people themselves and a consortium of organisations including the Brent Pensioner’s Forum, Brent Council, Elders Voice, Ashford Place and Age UK HHB – all joining forces to make life better for older people as we age.
We’re following the World Health Organisation’s principles of equity, accessibility and inclusiveness, creating environments that support healthy, active and connected living.
We’re focusing on areas such as:
Social Participation – Opportunities to get together and enjoy activities. Respect & Social Inclusion – Valuing everyone’s voice and contribution. Communication & Information – Clear, easy-to-find information for all. Outside Spaces & Buildings – Safe, welcoming and easy-to-access public areas. Civic Participation & Employment – Paid work, volunteering and ways to stay involved.
Your Voice Matters.
We’re creating an Age-Friendly Brent Action Plan and it starts with listening to you.
