Volunteer Activities Coordinators
We are seeking Volunteer Activities Coordinators to help us deliver our Wellbeing Centre activities in Kensal Green. If you consider yourself caring and helpful, and want to help older people thrive, this could be the opportunity for you!
When: We need help onWednesdays between 10am-4pm and Fridays between 12pm-3pm Where: Elders Voice, 181 Mortimer Road, Kensal Green, NW10 5TN
The activities we need support with are Zumba Gold & Weight Training, and responsibilities include:
Setting-up activities; moving furniture into a separate room, preparing equipment and refreshments
Supporting Sessional Worker with any requirements they may have
Recording participant’s attendance and entering data onto excel spreadsheet
Registering new participants, entering data onto system and filing paperwork
Making newcomers feel welcome
Encouraging new participants to join the Elders Voice free membership scheme
Checking-in with participants who have been absent from sessions
Emailing weekly attendance numbers and summary to Operations Manager
Packing away equipment, returning room to original layout
You will be great for the role if:
You have a basic understanding of Excel and Outlook
You like working with older people
You are willing to move furniture
You are reliable, trustworthy and friendly
You have good attention to detail
Volunteer Office Admin Assistant
We are seeking an Office Admin Assistant to help us run a small office. You will be the first point of contact for older people who need some help and you will be responsible for basic administrative tasks and front of house duties.
When: We need help on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-4pm Where: Elders Voice, 181 Mortimer Road, Kensal Green, NW10 5TN
Responsibilities include:
Answering the phones, forwarding calls & relaying messages to relevant staff members
Supporting older people over the phone with their enquiries; informing older people about Elders Voice’s services & activities, and encouraging them to join our free membership scheme.
Answering the front door; greeting clients & signing for deliveries
Responding to enquiries via the charity’s inbox
Checking the building is presentable and operational
Assisting the team with ad hoc tasks and desktop research
You will be great for the role if:
You are an excellent communicator
You are self-motivated and proactive
You are happy volunteering on your own (at times) and keeping in touch with the team
You have a good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
You enjoy supporting others and are patient and empathetic
