Elders Voice Earns Dementia Friendly Accreditation

Elders Voice is proud to announce that we are now an officially accredited Dementia Friendly Venue! The Dementia Friendly Venues Charter is an initiative launched by the Mayor of London in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, to make public spaces in London accessible and welcoming for people living with dementia. There are five key principles guiding the charter: Knowledge, Inclusivity, Accessibility, Communication and Sustainability.

In order to get the accreditation, we identified those areas of the framework that we currently fulfil. Such as providing accessible seating and wheelchair access, accompanying visitors around the venue, and consulting those affected by dementia to help inform our work.

To make us even more dementia friendly, we plan to improve our website and communications, and our staff are looking forward to receiving dementia training and becoming Dementia Friends.
